Tuesday:
Good morning to all and I hope you had a fantastic three day weekend. Mine was special in that I helped my wife move into our new house, our first house together. Well, sort of. She lives in it, but we own it!
Anyway, exciting day today. I hope you brought your drawing booklets. We are going to begin drawing on a daily basis to improve your skills in here. But first up, the daily opener!
You will add Tree Planting to your 'how to' booklet today. Then we are going to draw a detail of that process together. Below is a link to help you. Tree Planting Detail
After we are finished with the opener we will begin a project on The Design Process. I will introduce you to an awesome program called Illustrator and you will create a poster that portrays the design process. So, you are killing two birds with one stone in this regard. Learning a program and more of the design process.
Your poster will need to contain lots of information in text and images. It has to show the process as a non linear function, has to have a hierarchy of text/titles, and needs to have a unifying theme to tie the poster together. We will work on this in class and it will be due at the beginning of the next class period.
Thursday:
Good morning to all. There is no opener today. I would like to remind everyone to please wear shoes that you can get dirty Monday. We will be going out as a class and guying and planting some trees on campus. I promised you would be able to DO in order to learn landscape skills in this class. Therefore we are going to start early.
Today is a continuation from where we left off last class period. Your posters should be coming to a close, and at 9:30 I will be coming around and grading them and we will begin presenting these posters to the class. I am going to critique them and have you make changes to your poster to make it even better over the weekend. You will be getting a grade for your rough draft and for your final poster.
At 10:10 we will retake the quiz.
